Editorial policy
Lasting Daily Briefing aims to give readers a reliable, independent account of how ideas and practices endure. Our editorial choices favour clarity, proportion and honest handling of uncertainty.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against suitable sources and distinguish established information from interpretation. We aim to give ideas their context rather than flattening different times, places or communities into one story. When a point cannot be established confidently, we say so or leave it out.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for the reader, not as a promise of favourable coverage to a partner or contributor. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, and material support does not buy editorial approval.
Corrections
If a published piece contains a material error, we review the issue and correct it clearly. Readers can use the Contact page to flag a possible error; useful details include the article title, the passage in question and any supporting source.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is identified plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Illustrations may sometimes be generated with AI; when that is the case, the image is identified as AI-generated. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims.
Continuity is made, not inherited intact
Ideas endure because people use them, question them and adapt them. We look at those changes without pretending that lasting means unchanging.
